About Patna's BBQ
Where did you get the name Pa’tnas?
People always ask about our name so here is a little of our story.
Jason Grant and Ray Wahl Jr. were more than just friends. Even saying that they were like brothers or family is not enough to explain their friendship. They drove big trucks together. They team roped together. They drank at the bar together. They laughed and shed a tear or two together. Many an hour was spent on the CB or sitting around a fire swapping stories and their dreams with each other. One of their dreams was to "come off the road" and have a BBQ restaurant together. Unfortunately, Ray passed away before they could make that a reality.
When we decided to start our BBQ business, we still wanted Ray to be a part of it. The best thing that we could think of was a name. A name that only the two of them shared with each other. Other people called them Skippy or Muleshoe but they called each other "Pa'tna." That name says everything about what they were to each other. They were more than friends or brothers or partners, they were and always will be "Pa'tnas."
